"I have been taking lessons with Fredrik regularly since the fall of 2020. I initially sought him out because I felt somewhat restricted in the technique I had learned through my training. As a professional musical theater artist, my voice is my primary tool on stage. I want full control over every register, tone, vibrato, pitch, etc. Since I started with Fredrik, we’ve primarily worked on balancing the voice, eliminating register breaks, building pitch, and finding ease and compression in the high range. It has yielded incredible results and become a cornerstone of all my vocal training. I find Fredrik to be very pedagogical. He has an eye for details, but always ensures that the challenges are kept at an appropriate level. He insists on not skipping over important steps in the learning process, but with the mindset that one must also be allowed to let go, try, and make mistakes. An unusual combination! He also has a humble attitude toward different schools of thought within vocal technique, which can otherwise be quite black-and-white. Fredrik has helped me with vocal warm-ups and voice rehab digitally when I’ve been on tour and worn out. He is there to support, brainstorm, and think with me, and it feels reassuring to know that he’s always just a call away if things get really tough!"
